I was incredibly fortunate to have participated in this event in 2019, at which point I learned about Wellspring, and the care and services that they provide for those with cancer. Since that time, loved ones have been lost to this disease, while some continue to battle onward, and others now survive and thrive, in recovery. Wellspring provides programs, services and a community to those living with cancer, as well as for families and those supporting in care. I can not think of a better reason to train, climb, and fundraise towards a cause.
I am a first responder and one of only 10 determined people participating in the Challenge the Chief event on June 11, 2023, in support of Wellspring Alberta. I am excited to take on the challenge and look forward to pushing myself as I race Calgary Fire Chief Steve Dongworth up the 247 metres 1370 steps of Brookfield Place in downtown Calgary in full gear. This will be a taller tower/bigger challenge then the years past, but one worth rising to.
By donating, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of many.

Wellspring Alberta offers free programs, support and resources to those affected by cancer so no one has to face cancer alone. In addition, Wellspring Alberta will gift a portion of event net proceeds to the Firefighters Assistance Charitable Society (FACS) whose mission is to empower and strengthen the firefighter by enhancing the success and resilience of the firefighter community.
