Challenge the Chief

Are you tougher and faster than Calgary Fire Chief Steve Dongworth? Prove it!

Every year, hundreds of firefighters from around the world take part in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge, in support of firefighters and community members living with cancer. To change up the challenge and keep everyone safe, the LIVE event will take place at Calgary’s Canada Olympic Park. This event is closed to the public UNLESS you think that you can beat the Chief.

The Main Event

This event is only open to firefighters with the exception of those determined people who will be challenging Calgary Fire Chief Steve Dongworth to a race to the top of Canada Olympic Park. 

Event Details

• Minimum $8,000 fundraising goal with $500 donation required to register (tax receipt provided)
• Open to non-firefighters of all athletic levels and abilities
• Registration deadline – May 6, 2022
• If you are unable to climb, sponsor someone to climb on your behalf 
• Chief Dongworth and his Challengers will kick off the main event and a victor will be declared at the end
