I'm happy to say that I will ride again in the Cancervive fund raiser for Wellspring Calgary. As last year we will be riding in Osyoos from September 25 - 28. In this trying year we will be riding in smaller groups and each group will ride different routes and distances to help with respecting social distancing. As it's very hilly in the Osoyoos area I know that even the shorter routes will be challenging enough to ensure the Cancervive spirit in support of those living with Cancer and their caregivers will be met!
In this time Covid cancer does not take a pass and we at Cancervive can’t take a pass either. We need to keep Wellspring strong and vibrant in these tough times. It is known that, on average, 51 people a day are diagnosed with cancer in Alberta. In Calgary alone, 5 people a day may seek a place of support during their cancer experience. This past few years I have seen a number of close friends and associates receiving the cancer diagnosis and beginning their treatment path to recovery.
Wellspring Calgary is the only centre of its kind in western Canada that addresses the non-medical needs and changes that a cancer diagnosis can bring. Over 500 people a year have accessed Wellspring Calgary's services for the first time last year! A donation of only $150 will provide free resources and programs for one member for an entire month, support that can greatly help to increase their quality of life.
Every dollar makes a difference in the lives of someone living with cancer. Please consider supporting me in my efforts to have a positive impact on someone's life. This year, in an effort to maximize donations, I will match your donations up to the $3000 minimum we have to raise for this ride.
Thank you for considering supporting my efforts for Wellspring. I know it is a difficult time for all of us and any donation is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards and see you soon. Hopefully on a bike
