THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TREMENDOUS SUPPORT IN MEETING AND EXCEEDING MY FUNDRAISING GOAL
It being the virtual climb it ended up taking me 38.17 to do 1204 steps up (plus down as well).
As some of you already know, I am a part-time firefighter with High River Fire Department. I have been taking up the stariclimb challenge since its inaugural year, and I will once again accept the challenge to participate in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge, albeit virtually this year. As you know, due to the current situation our event will be virtual this year which also means we can have people climbing all around the world. I'm excited to take on this challenge and look forward to pushing myself up 1204 steps (equivalent of what we would have done in The BOW building in downtown Calgary). My goal this year (as it has been every year) is to beat my best time so far (of 18:44) and also beat my highest fundraising year. Of course, with the virtual event this will be interesting to see how and what will comes out of it.
I am dedicating my climb to a friend and a family member who lost their battles to cancer. I am also dedicating it to all the firefighters, who go out to face the tasks on hand despite the fact that cancer (and other risks) is a grim possibility. So, this is a cause that is close to my heart and I have witnessed, first hand, the great work Wellspring Calgary does so I am happy to be a supporter.
I'm asking for your help with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many affected by cancer. All the money raised will go towards Wellspring Calgary, an organization that provides free programs and resources to people impacted by cancer. I am starting early this year as I am also planning to beat my funds raised from previous years. It's fast and easy to support my climb. You can make your donation online simply by clicking 'donate now' button. Any amount, big or small, helps those affected by cancer. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress!
