Myself and fellow members of the Coalhurst Fire Deparment are enrolled again in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge. Normally we would be gearing up to climb the 1204 steps of the Bow Tower in Calgary (a total of 774 vertical feet) in full turnout gear. Covid restrictions have forced the 2021 event to be put on virtually. Meaning while not at the Bow Tower itself, we will still be climbing the 1204 steps on stair climb machines in our turnout gear in early May.
Proceeds raised from this event go to Wellspring Calgary. Wellspring provides programs and services to not only firefighters but all citizens living with cancer. Wellspring generously gifts some of the proceeds to the Firefighter's Assistance Charitable Society, which helps ensure firefighters and their families have access to assistance and resources in their time of need.
My team & I would appreciate your support and are grateful for any donations received to contribute to this great cause.
